The Iron Foundation launch the Boot RoomIron
The Iron Foundation is excited to launch their new recycling project; the Boot Room.
The Boot Room will house football footwear (boots or astros) that have been collected at recycling points across North Lincolnshire, cleaned by a team of volunteers and shelved, ready to be tried on in our purpose fitted out Boot Room at Appleby Frodingham, the home of Iron Campus.
Anyone who has football related footwear in any size that is in good condition (grown out of, rather than worn out of) please consider donating them to the Boot Room recycling project.
It’s easy to donate, there are several recycling stations across North Lincolnshire. Just tie the laces together and drop them in to one of the Boot Room branded recycling points at any of the following locations;
- The Pods Leisure Centre (Scunthorpe) Located in reception.
- Baysgarth Community Hub (Barton) Located in reception.
- Ancholme Leisure Centre (Brigg) Located in reception.
- Crowle Leisure Centre (Crowle)
- Appleby Frodingham Sports and Social Club (Scunthorpe)
The Attis Arena, home of Scunthorpe United, will receive donations in the club shop during their opening hours but may not always have a recycling point on site. This Saturday’s game against Alfreton Town will see a blue bin appear in the club shop. Please donate if you can.
When we have enough football footwear to officially open the Boot Room, we will update this page and our social media channels.
If you are involved with a group or individuals who would benefit from receiving footwear, are interested in volunteering for the clean-up of the boots, or would like to support the initiative to keep going by making a donation for the ongoing costs, please get in touch via enquiries@ironfoundation.co.uk.
